The distance people stand at
Someone on the pavement holds the phone farther than a guest at a table. The square on the glass needs to be clearly larger than a price sticker. If the modules blur from two steps away, print a bigger file instead of hoping the camera will zoom.
Glass, glare and contrast
A window throws back sky and headlights. Dark modules on a clear film disappear. Put the code on white film or a light panel, and do not stick it over a bright poster. The quiet rim around the matrix stays empty.
What to put inside, and what to test
A short HTTPS link to the menu, the hours or a map is usually enough. Scan from the pavement in daylight and again at night, when the glass glows from inside. If the offer changes every week, a static picture stays frozen: a link you can still edit belongs in the QRcode Global dashboard.
